Ronald McDonald House Wish List

On Wednesday, February 19th, club members who are traveling to the state convention will be making a stop at the Ronald McDonald House to drop off some supplies.  Here is a link to supplies that are needed.  If you would like to donate, please bring to Mrs. Locker by Wednesday morning.

Empty Bowl Project

On Wednesday, February 12th, around 30 Jr. Beta members painted bowls for the Empty Bowl Project.  The proceeds for this project will go to the Needline in Mayfield.

Piggies for Preemies

During the last week of January, our club began a Piggies for Preemies drive to collect money for Kosair Children's Hospital.  The school collected over $1300 for the hospital!!!!  Below is a picture of students Jacob Hansen, Olivia Heath, and Kaitlynn Miller holding some of the piggies that were used to collect the money.

Helping Those We Love

Recently, 7th grade science teacher, Amanda Fain's house was damaged in a house fire.  Thankfully, no one was hurt, but Mrs. Fain and her family lost many possessions to fire and smoke damage.  To show our support, our club raised $444 in just 2 days to help out the Fain's with whatever they might need.  Below, club treasurer, Grace Thomasson, presents Mrs. Morgan with the check and a bag of items for Mrs. Fain's children.

Helping Tornado Victims

The GCMS Jr. Beta club, whose motto is "Let us lead by serving others", organized a collection of items for those in need in Brookport.  The announcement for the collection was made on Monday afternoon, and items were brought in on Tuesday morning.  GCMS students collected a truck AND van load of items that they dropped off at Heartland Worship Center in Paducah to be delivered to Brookport.  The club started then drive in honor of seventh grade Social Studies teacher, Glen Seaton, whose house was damaged by the tornado on Sunday afternoon.

An AWESOME Tea Party

Thank you so much to all of the Betas who donated items, helped set up, helped during the event, and helped clean up afterwards.  We had 107 very happy little girls, and a bunch of happy parents and grandparents.  I will be able to tell you soon how much we made for the Ronald McDonald House!  Here are a couple of pictures from the event!

Preparing for the Princess Tea Party

On Tuesday, August 27th, we will have a work day to prepare for the Princess Tea Party.  We will start working immediately after school until around 5pm.  At that time, if you would like to go to the football game (vs. Mayfield), we will walk over as a group.

Also, we need Betas to work the Princess Tea Party on Saturday, August 31st.  I have sign-up sheets in the library.  We need greeters, servers, nail and face painters, and Princess helpers.  The first shift starts at 12:30 and ends at 3.  The second shift starts at 3 and ends at 5:30.  You can work one or both shifts.  I am asking that you wear black pants or skirt and a white shirt.

You can also sign-up to bring in a package (or 2) of store bought cookies.  We have food for the little girls, but we need some to feed the adults as well.
